Accessibility statement

We believe that the internet should be accessible to everyone and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to as many people as possible – regardless of ability. To achieve this, we follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) at the AA level, as closely as possible. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with various disabilities. By following these standards, we ensure our website is usable by blind users, people with motor or cognitive impairments, and users with visual limitations.

Our website utilizes various technologies to ensure accessibility 24/7. An accessibility interface enables users with specific needs to adjust the website’s user interface (UI) to their preferences. Additionally, we use an AI-based background application that continuously optimizes accessibility. This application enhances the website’s HTML code, adjusts features for screen readers used by the blind, and enables keyboard navigation for users with motor impairments.

Our website implements ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) and behavioral adjustments so that blind users with screen readers can read, understand, and interact with all functions. Upon entering the site, screen reader users are prompted to activate a dedicated Screen Reader Profile for easier navigation and interaction.

Screen Reader Optimization

We continuously analyze all aspects of the site to ensure accessibility, even after updates. This process includes:

  • Clearly labeled form fields
  • Descriptions of clickable icons (e.g., social media, search, cart)
  • Validation guidance for form inputs
  • Role indicators for key elements like buttons, menus, and popups

Additionally, the application scans all images and adds relevant ALT text using object recognition. Text inside images is extracted using OCR (optical character recognition).

Screen reader mode is activated with Alt+1 and is compatible with popular screen readers like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.

Keyboard Navigation Optimization

The website’s HTML and functionality are adapted using JavaScript to allow full navigation using only a keyboard. This includes:

  • Tab and Shift+Tab navigation
  • Arrow key control for menus
  • Closing modals with Esc
  • Activating buttons and links with Enter
  • Selecting checkboxes and radio buttons with Space or Enter

Keyboard users can also access a skip-to-content menu via Alt+2 or as the first element on the page. Popups automatically trap keyboard focus when opened.

Keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation:

  • M = menus
  • H = headings
  • F = forms
  • B = buttons
  • G = graphics/images
  • Epilepsy Safe Profile: Removes flashing animations and color combinations that may trigger seizures
  • Vision Impaired Profile: Adjusts the site for common vision issues like cataracts, glaucoma, tunnel vision, and poor eyesight
  • Cognitive Profile: Offers support for users with conditions like autism, dyslexia, or stroke, using simplified features
  • ADHD Friendly Profile: Minimizes distractions to improve focus
  • Blind Profile (for screen readers): Optimizes site for use with screen readers
  • Keyboard Navigation Profile: Enables complete control of the website via keyboard and shortcuts.
  • Font adjustments: Change size, family, spacing, alignment, and more
  • Color options: Choose contrast modes (light, dark, inverted, monochrome) or customize color themes
  • Animations: Option to disable all animations (including video, GIFs, CSS effects) with one click
  • Content highlighting: Emphasize links, headings, and interactive elements on focus or hover
  • Mute sounds: Instantly disable all sounds – useful for users with hearing aids
  • Cognitive support: Built-in explanations via Wikipedia and Wiktionary
  • More tools: Change cursor color/size, activate print mode, show virtual keyboard, etc.

We strive to support as many combinations of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so users can choose what works best for them. We support over 95% of the user market, including:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Opera
  • Microsoft Edge
  • JAWS and NVDA (for Windows and Mac)

Despite our efforts, some parts of the website may not yet be fully accessible or are undergoing improvements. We continuously work to develop, update, and implement new solutions to achieve the highest possible accessibility.
